Gregator vs Mini Course Generator
Pick Mini Course Generator if you build courses for an audience: customers, partners, employees or paying students. It gives you an AI course creator, an interactive block editor, landing pages, payments and SCORM export. Pick Gregator if you want to learn a topic yourself from a researched course with inline citations and study tools. Mini Course Generator serves the person who makes the course; Gregator serves the person who reads it.
What Mini Course Generator does well
Mini Course Generator describes itself as an AI course creator for interactive training. Its homepage lists use cases such as selling courses, customer and partner training, onboarding, compliance and in-app education, and it says it is trusted by over 20,000 training providers.
- Document or video to course. You can add a source document, describe what the course is about and your teaching goals, and pick an image style (Realistic, Illustration or 3D). The AI builds the pages, quizzes and images. Its pricing page also lists an AI YouTube-to-Course Builder.
- Interactive pages. A drag-and-drop block editor offers interactive elements, and an AI Interaction Builder and an AI Educational Game Builder add activities. You can embed tools such as ThingLink, Spotify and Gamma.
- Building from AI assistants. An MCP server and an official ChatGPT plugin let you build and edit courses from Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants.
- Delivery options. Share courses by link, embed them on web pages, export to PDF, or, on Pro, export to Dynamic SCORM for your customers' own LMS. Access can be open, behind a password, after email verification, or after payment.
- Selling and growth. Paid courses, custom domains, landing pages with SEO settings, community boards, badges, and automations through Zapier and Make.
- Pro additions. Invitation-only access, certifications, AI course translation, Dynamic SCORM export and webhooks.
For a creator or a training team who needs to publish and sell interactive courses, it covers the full path from draft to delivery.
How Gregator works differently
Gregator is not a course builder. There is no editor, landing page or payment setup. You type a topic you want to learn, and Gregator researches it and returns a saved course of 1 to 12 Chapters, sized to the topic. Each Chapter has an objective, runs about 700 to 1,200 words, and ends with key takeaways.
The research step is the main difference. Gregator searches the open web with seven search providers, including arXiv and Wikipedia. It extracts up to 18 sources per Chapter and writes each Chapter from its 7 most relevant sources, with a cap on how many come from one domain or share one perspective. Citations appear as inline footnotes placed after the claims they support, and each Chapter ends with a Sources list.
Every source is classified by type (peer-reviewed, institutional, journalism, community) and evidence quality. Each course has a trust overview with the mix of source types and an evidence-quality label, and each Chapter shows its source and peer-reviewed counts. After the Chapters are written, a course-level review checks for redundancy, difficulty spikes, coherence gaps and one-sided sources on contested topics, and flagged Chapters are revised automatically.
For study, each Chapter has up to 5 multiple-choice questions with an explanation for each option, plus a final course quiz. Answers are graded on the server, and a wrong answer links back to the Chapter section. Greg, the chat tutor, reads your course, can search the course and the web, and can offer a deep dive that adds a new Chapter. Paid plans narrate every Chapter. Progress tracking and study recommendations show what to learn next. Public share links let anyone read a course without an account.
Gregator's limits matter if you are a creator. It does not accept uploads, so it cannot build from your documents or videos. It has no SCORM, LMS or PDF export, no payments, and no learner management. It is English-first and runs as an installable web app, not a native app.
