Gregator vs LearningStudioAI
Pick LearningStudioAI if you author courses for other people and need to export them as SCORM, PDF or a tracked share link, in up to 20 languages. Pick Gregator if you want to learn a topic yourself from a researched course with citations, source-quality context and study tools built in. LearningStudioAI is an authoring tool; Gregator is for the person doing the learning.
What LearningStudioAI does well
LearningStudioAI calls itself an AI course creator and eLearning authoring tool. It is built for L&D and corporate training teams, educators, coaches and course creators who need finished, publishable courses.
- Topic or document to course. It turns a topic, a PDF or a document into a course with lessons, quizzes, images and text-to-speech narration. You can upload DOC, TXT, PPT or PDF files, up to 60,000 characters per document on every plan.
- An editor after generation. Courses stay editable in a block-based editor. AI can expand, summarise or rewrite text and add sections. You can upload video, record audio, add images and adjust themes, layouts and colours.
- Narration options. Text-to-speech narration with male and female voices is available in 9 of the 20 course languages, and you can upload or record your own audio.
- Many languages. Courses can be generated in 20 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic.
- Export for an LMS. Courses export as SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004 packages, or download as PDF. The site also lists HTML embeds and hosting on LearningStudioAI.
- Analytics without an LMS. The share link reports views, completion, time spent and quiz scores per learner. An optional sign-in gate shows learners by name and email.
- Developer access. A REST API with webhooks and a Zapier integration can create and export courses.
For a trainer who needs SCORM packages or multilingual courses quickly, these features are the point of the product.
How Gregator works differently
Gregator has no authoring editor and no export for an LMS. You type a topic you want to learn, and Gregator researches it and returns a saved course of 1 to 12 Chapters, sized to the topic. Each Chapter has an objective, runs about 700 to 1,200 words, and ends with key takeaways.
The difference is in the research. Gregator searches the open web with seven search providers, including arXiv and Wikipedia. It extracts up to 18 sources per Chapter, at most 4 from one domain, and writes each Chapter from its 7 most relevant sources. Citations are inline footnotes placed after the claims they support, and each Chapter ends with a Sources list. For a topic marked as contested, the plan searches for criticism and the writer is told to present each position and cite each side.
Every source is classified by type (peer-reviewed, institutional, journalism, community) and evidence quality. The course shows a trust overview with the mix of source types and an evidence-quality label, and each Chapter shows its source and peer-reviewed counts. A course-level review checks the whole course for redundancy, forward references, difficulty spikes and coherence gaps, and revises flagged Chapters automatically.
Gregator is built for study after the course exists. Each Chapter has up to 5 multiple-choice questions with an explanation per option, plus a final course quiz, graded on the server, and a wrong answer links back to the Chapter section. Greg, the chat tutor, reads the course, can search the course and the web, remembers what you tell it, and can offer a deep dive that adds a new Chapter. Paid plans narrate every Chapter. Progress tracking and study recommendations show what to learn next.
Gregator's limits are real for an author. It is English-first. It does not accept uploaded files. It has no SCORM, LMS or PDF export; you can export Markdown or share a public link. It shows a course trust overview, not each source's individual score.
